Pedestrian Struck, Killed on the I-5 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (May 17, 2022) — A fatal San Diego pedestrian accident happened Tuesday on the southbound Interstate 5 in the Mission Bay area.
The collision occurred about 9:30 a.m. near the center divide of the I-5 Freeway, just north of Clairemont Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses told 911 operators a driver in a white Honda Accord struck the pedestrian, according to a CHP report. The pedestrian was not identified, but police say it was a woman with a bicycle. It’s unknown if she was walking with the bike or riding it at the time of the crash.
There is no further information about the deadly crash at this time.
The CHP is heading up an investigation.
