Woman Killed in Hit-and-run Crash in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 26, 2023) — A 42-year-old woman died in a San Diego pedestrian accident last Friday on Division Street.
The collision occurred around 8:35 p.m. on Sept. 22nd in the 5700 block of Division Street, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
A driver reportedly struck the woman as she was pushing a shopping cart in the eastbound lane of Division Street, the report said. The report stated the woman was “impeding traffic” when she was struck by the hit-and-run motorist.
The dark sedan was heading eastbound on Division Street and failed to stop after hitting and killing the woman.
A witness who saw the collision called 9-1-1 and officers with the San Diego Police Department and San Diego Fire Department Engine, and Falck Paramedic responded to the scene.
Paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but were unable to save the woman. She reportedly died at the scene.
Investigators are working on the case and searching for the suspect.
