Bicycle Rider Struck, Killed in San Jose
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Sept. 10, 2024) — A fatal bicycle accident happened Tuesday at the East Capitol Expressway on-ramp to the northbound Interstate 680 in San Jose.
The deadly collision occurred at 11:37 a.m. on Sept. 10th, near Jackson Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a pickup truck struck the bicyclist due to unknown circumstances at the East Capitol Expressway on-ramp.
The San Jose Police Department sent officers to the scene, but unfortunately, the rider suffered major injuries and died following the crash. The victim’s bicycle was taken to the police station for evidence.
Meanwhile, the driver in a pickup truck stopped and cooperated with authorities.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the bicycle accident on East Capitol Expressway.
