
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2023) — A fatal San Jose pedestrian accident happened Friday morning at Morrill Avenue and Knights Bridge Road.
The deadly crash occurred around 5:39 a.m. on Feb. 10th, according to the San Jose Police Department.
UPDATE: Suspect in San Jose hit-and-run pedestrian accident is arrested
Police sent officers to the scene where they located a woman suffering major injuries, but the driver had fled without stopping to help her. Paramedics responded and rushed the injured woman to a hospital, but sadly she died before she got there.
There is no description of the suspect or vehicle at this time, but investigators are piecing together evidence in an effort to locate them.
The location of the hit-and-run pedestrian accident is near Cataldi Park and there is a marked crosswalk near the intersection. The posted speed limit on Morrill Avenue is 35 mph.
Authorities closed down the intersection to carry out the investigation. The San Jose public information officer reported this is the third pedestrian death this year in San Jose. Also, it’s the fifth traffic fatality among four collisions so far this year.
