Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Highway 101
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Sept. 30, 2022) — A tow truck struck and killed a pedestrian on Highway 101 in San Jose Thursday night near Alum Rock Avenue.
The pedestrian accident occurred about 11:20 p.m. on Sept. 29th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Prior to the deadly pedestrian accident, the pedestrian was driving a Scion XB that rear-ended a Tesla. CHP officials say the person got out of their Scion XB and ran across the southbound 101 freeway lanes.
An oncoming tow truck struck the person in the roadway. The unidentified person died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver in the Tesla explained what happened to police.
The collisions both remain under investigation.
