Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash I-880 Freeway, Hwy 238
SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (March 20, 2020) –A multi-vehicle car accident resulted in one fatality Thursday night in San Leandro.
The collision was reported about 9:20 p.m. on March 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of the I-880 Freeway, just north of the Highway 238 interchange. The CHP reported that one vehicle involved in the collision crashed into a wall on the right shoulder of the freeway. One person was confirmed dead at the scene.
The Alameda County Coroner responded to the scene and paramedics with the Alameda Fire Department responded to help those who were hurt in the crash.
Several cars were involved including a gray van and two other vehicles. Unfortunately, one person died in the crash and police are investigating the cause and liability.
