2 Killed, 1 Injured in Head-on Crash in San Pablo
SAN PABLO, Calif. (Dec. 7, 2023) — Two people were killed and a third was critically injured in a head-on crash early Thursday on El Portal Drive in San Pablo.
The deadly crash occurred just before 1 a.m. on Dec. 7th, according to ABC 7 News.
The San Pablo Police Department reported a man and woman were driving together in a vehicle traveling westbound on El Portal Drive.
Authorities say the vehicle veered into eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a car occupied by one person.
The man sustained major injuries and died on scene and the woman traveling with him was transported to a hospital and died shortly afterwards.
Meanwhile, the lone driver in the second car was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Police closed down El Portal Drive near Glenlock Street to conduct an investigation into the traffic accident.
The case remains under investigation.
