Woman Killed in Santa Ana Crash
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Sept. 26, 2022) – A fatal Santa Ana crash happened early Saturday morning at Santa Ana Boulevard and Grand Avenue in Orange County.
The collision occurred about 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 24th, according to the Santa Ana Police Dept.
Authorities say a woman is dead and three others riding in the same vehicle fled on foot following the crash, according to County News.
The SUV was traveling eastbound on Santa Ana Boulevard when its driver apparently drove through a red light. The vehicle collided with a second motorist that was heading south on Grand Avenue, police said.
The Santa Ana Police Department responded and located the woman lying in the roadway after she was ejected from the SUV. Others from her vehicle fled the scene for unknown reasons. It’s unknown if the victim was a passenger or driver of the SUV.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and rushed her to a hospital where she later died, according to the Orange County Register.
The second motorist stopped and is cooperating with police.
The Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division is asking witnesses to call them at 714-245-8200 or 714-245-8216.
