Santa Ana Police Searching For Hit-and-run Motorist
SANTA ANA, Calif. (April 11, 2022) – A fatal Santa Ana hit-and-run car accident happened Saturday morning at Main Street and 14th Street.
The crash occurred about 2:10 a.m. on April 9th between a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado and a 2021 Dodge Charger, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Police say the Dodge Charger was traveling north on Main Street when it struck the Chevrolet Colorado at the intersection. The Colorado overturned and its driver became trapped in the vehicle. Meanwhile, the driver in the Charger abandoned the vehicle and failed to help the victim in the other vehicle. Witnesses saw the suspect leave in a red SUV. He is described as a 5-foot 6-inch tall Hispanic man about 30 to 35 years old and 200 pounds.
Paramedics responded and rushed the driver of the Colorado to a hospital, but sadly the man died from their injuries. His name will be released after relatives are notified.
