A Pedestrian died in a Crash on the 5 Freeway
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night on the Interstate 5 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident took place about 8:40 p.m. in the southbound lanes, near the 55 Freeway, the CHP said.
Police issued a SigAlert as they closed down the southbound carpool lane and three main lanes to investigate the crash.

It’s unknown at this time who is responsible for this person’s death. Police are going over the evidence and any witness statements to determine fault.
Meanwhile, the family of the person who died could have grounds for a wrongful death lawsuit against the at-fault driver seeking compensation for damages such as medical expenses and hospital bills, lost future income due to work absence, and pain and suffering.
