
SANTA ANA, Calif. (April 3, 2023) — A fatal hit-and-run Santa Ana pedestrian accident happened Sunday morning on West St. Gertrude Place.
One person was killed and a second person was hospitalized after being struck by a motorist in the 500 block of West St. Gertrude Place.
The collision occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday, April 2nd, according to the Orange County Register.
A driver in an SUV was westbound when they struck the two pedestrians. The Santa Ana Police Department responded and located two people lying in the roadway. Paramedics transported them both to a hospital where one died and the second remains in unknown condition.
The driver fled the scene without stopping to help the two victims.
The identity of the two pedestrians has not been released.
Investigators are piecing together evidence and searching for the suspect. Witnesses to the pedestrian accident on St. Gertrude Place should contact the Santa Ana Police Department.
