Pedestrian Killed in Santa Monica Hit-and-Run Crash
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (August. 2, 2021) – A fatal, hit-and-run Santa Monica Boulevard pedestrian accident happened early Monday morning in Santa Monica.
The hit-and-run crash happened about 1 a.m. on August 2nd in the 3100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
Upon arrival at the crash scene, authorities located a pedestrian suffering from major injuries in the roadway. Paramedics responded and transported the injured person to a hospital where they later died due to their injuries, police said. The age and gender of the victim will be released after relatives are notified.
Investigators closed down Santa Monica Boulevard between Berkeley and Franklin streets to search for clues about the suspect who fled. Also, they are checking surveillance video in the area and hope to have a description of the suspect’s vehicle.
