
Man, 24, Struck, Killed on Highway 99
FRESNO, Calif. (April 12, 2023) – Oswald Capistron, 24, of Fresno, was struck and killed while riding a scooter on Highway 99 Wednesday morning near Fresno Street.
The deadly crash occurred around 1 a.m. on April 12th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials responded to a call about a pedestrian hit by vehicles on the northbound Highway 99, but learned the young man had been riding a scooter.
A driver traveling northbound hit the victim and he was thrown off the scooter into traffic lanes.
The motorist involved attempted to pull the man off the roadway, but was unable to and at least two other vehicles struck the victim, according to Your Central Valley News.
Sadly, Oswald Capistron suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner reported the young man was homeless and living in Fresno.
Investigators are reviewing the facts and evidence to determine fault for the fatal scooter accident on Highway 99.
