Rollover Crash in Sherman Oaks on I-405 Freeway
SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. (April 29, 2021) — A fatal Sherman Oaks crash happened Thursday morning on the Interstate 405 Freeway.
The crash took place about 9:24 a.m. on the southbound I-405 Freeway near Sepulveda Boulevard in Sherman Oaks, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told CHP officers a silver Hyundai Tiburon overturned several times after colliding with a black Ford F-150 pickup truck. The vehicle wound up facing the wrong way and was blocking the HOV and No. 1 lanes on the freeway.
Two people were transported to the hospital where they both died after the collision.
Los Angeles Fire Department units stopped traffic at Sepulveda Boulevard. Meanwhile, police issued a SigAlert at 9:33 a.m. Tow trucks removed both damaged vehicles from the scene of the Sherman Oaks fatal crash.
