Deadly, Hit and Run in Sepulveda Pass
SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. (March 31, 2022) – A fatal Sherman Oaks pedestrian accident early Thursday happened on the southbound Ventura (101) Freeway and the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway exchange.
The CHP reported a hit-and-run crash left one person dead near the Sepulveda Pass in Sherman Oaks.
The crash happened just before 4:16 a.m. on March 31st at the freeway interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol. Police located the victim in the roadway suffering major injuries. Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department also responded, but were unable to save the person. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver drove away without stopping to render aid, according to CHP. Police did not release a description of the vehicle or suspect.
The Sherman Oaks accident remains under investigation.
