Man Killed, Two Women Injured in Collision

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif., (July 28, 2026) — A fatal solo-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday on the southbound Interstate 15 near Harvard Road in the Barstow area of San Bernardino County.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the incident on July 28th at 12:05 p.m., where the Toyota Avalon involved was found overturned on its roof, completely off the freeway. The vehicle was not affecting traffic, but tragically, the three occupants were still inside when emergency responders arrived.

At approximately 12:09 p.m., it was noted that a female passenger was observed sitting up outside the vehicle. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the man driving the vehicle was confirmed by the Barstow Coroner’s Office at 12:37 p.m. The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office later identified the driver as 85-year-old Artin Missakian of Glendale.

Two women were injured in the accident.

Emergency units were dispatched rapidly, arriving at the scene by 12:30 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward with any information.
