Deadly Crash on Highway 118 (Los Angeles Ave)
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2022) — One person died Friday morning in a multi-vehicle Somis crash on Highway 118 (Los Angeles Avenue) near Price Road.
The deadly collision happened about 6:26 a.m. on Highway 118 near Price Road, just north of Camarillo, according to the California Highway Patrol. All lanes of State Route 118 were blocked by vehicles.
Three vehicles including an overturned box truck, an SUV and a black Chevrolet Silverado were involved in the collision. The Ventura County Fire Department responded to the scene and located at least one person with major injuries. Sadly, the person succumbed to their injuries at the scene just before 6:53 a.m.
Meanwhile, the Department of Transportation closed down the intersection at Price Road.
All three vehicles required tow trucks to remove them from the highway. One of them had major front-end damage from the crash.
The identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed.
There is an investigation into the cause of the Somis crash on Highway 118.
