SOMIS, Calif. (June 13, 2023) — A fatal Somis motorcycle accident happened Tuesday on Los Angeles Avenue also known as Highway 118 near Mesa School Road.
The drivers of a silver Honda sedan and the motorcycle collided in the eastbound lanes due to unknown circumstances.
The 54-year-old Camarillo man riding the bike suffered severe injuries and someone called 911 for paramedics.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to help the injured motorcyclist, however by 7:08 another call was made for the coroner. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Meanwhile, police closed down a portion of the roadway to investigate the cause of the crash and liability.
Witnesses to the motorcycle accident on Highway 118 are asked to contact the California Highway Patrol or the Ventura Police Department.
The investigation into what happened is ongoing.
