Deadly Crash on Wilcox Road in Stockton
STOCKTON, Calif. (May 17, 2022) — A fatal crash happened Tuesday morning when a vehicle went off Highway 99 and crashed into a parking lot the Goodyear Tire at 4040 Wilcox Road.
The collision occurred overnight, but was discovered at 7 a.m. on May 17th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A green or blue vehicle suffered major damage in the crash. At least one person inside died at the scene.
CHP officials reported an employee from the tire store discovered the fatality upon arrival at work.
Roughly 50 feet of chain link fencing was destroyed during the crash. Recovery crews had to cut the vehicle out from the fencing.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash and liability.
