Deadly Motorcycle Crash Involving DUI Driver in Stockton
STOCKTON, Calif. (May 24, 2021) — A fatal Stockton motorcycle crash happened late Sunday night at East Mariposa Road and Murphy Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported the collision about 11:46 p.m. on May 23rd.
Two motorcycles and a car collided due to unknown circumstances.
Driver Arrested DUI, Manslaughter
The car became fully engulfed in flames after the crash. Also, one of the motorcyclists lost a leg that was found in the middle of the roadway. It’s unknown at this time who died in the crash, but it’s very likely it was the rider who lost a leg based on the severity of that injury. Additionally, the CHP report indicates that two motorcyclists may have died.
One of the motorists was arrested following the collision. The driver faces charges of DUI causing bodily injury and two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, according to the CHP.
The CHP and San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
