INGLEWOOD, California (April 20, 2016) — One person is dead, two injured following a head-on crash allegedly caused by a drunken driver in the 9500 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard, a report by the Inglewood Police Department stated.
The crash took place about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday night when the suspected DUI driver was reportedly speeding in a 2003 Toyota Sequoia SUV in the northbound lanes of Crenshaw Boulevard. The driver allegedly swerved to the left and into opposing traffic where he slammed into another motorist.
The second driver died of their injuries at the scene of the crash. The female passenger in one of the vehicles suffered major injuries and was hospitalized. The driver of the Toyota Sequoia suffered minor injuries and was treated before being tested for drugs and alcohol. Police say he was intoxicated, but declined to state what substance was involved.
