Fatal Tesla Crash State Route 60, Heacock Street, Moreno Valley

RIVERSIDE, Calif., (June 29, 2026) — A fatal collision involving a black Tesla and a guardrail occurred on State Route 60 West in Moreno Valley near Heacock Street late Sunday night, claiming the life of a motorist.
The crash was reported on June 28th at approximately 9:40 p.m. when the Tesla reportedly veered off the Moreno Valley 60 Freeway, crashed through a guardrail, and came to rest hanging precariously over the side of the highway. According to the California Highway Patrol, a second driver in a Toyota RAV4 SUV was possibly involved or stopped to help. The SUV was stopped roughly a mile in front of the Tesla. the incident remains under investigation as they work to determine the cause of the collision.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find multiple individuals trapped inside the vehicle. The guardrail went straight through the front windshield into the body of the vehicle. One person reportedly sustained fatal injuries. The vehicle occupants included Ricardo Martinez, Quinn Campos, Irvin Estrella, Eric Zamora, Zachary Padilla, and Jacob Olsen. Three who were injured were all transported to local hospitals with moderate to serious injuries, and sadly one person died on scene.
The Riverside County Fire Department, led by Battalion Chief Kenneth Meinke, and various firefighting personnel were on the scene to assist with the extrication and treatment of victims. A Sig Alert was issued, closing two right lanes for approximately four hours to facilitate the emergency response and investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward as the investigation is ongoing.
