Fatal Thousand Oaks Crash Highway 23, Olsen Road in Ventura County
Man, 65, Killed in Crash on Highway 23
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2023) — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Thousand Oaks on Highway 23 near Olsen Road in Ventura County.
The deadly collision occurred on Moorpark Freeway at around 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20th, according to the Ventura County Star.
A 65-year-old Simi Valley nan driving a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck entered the southbound Highway 23 from Olsen Road and reportedly lost control of his vehicle due to speed and wet conditions. Meanwhile, a female driver in a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV traveling southbound on Highway 23 struck the Toyota pickup truck.
The Simi Valley man sustained major injuries and died at the scene. However, the woman driving the Chevrolet survived with complaints of pain.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up the traffic investigation.
