Semi-Truck Fiery, Head-on Crash on Grayson Road
STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 22, 2022) — An unidentified Livingston man died in a fatal truck accident on West Grayson Road, just east of Shiloh Road Thursday afternoon in Stanislaus County.
The fiery, hit-and-run crash occurred about 2:16 p.m. on Sept. 22nd, just east of Laird Regional Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a 2017 Ram pickup truck crashed head-on into a big rig truck as the smaller truck attempted to pass slower-moving traffic. The Dodge reportedly crossed over double yellow lines into the path of the big rig. The Freightliner truck was missing its front-end and both vehicles caught on fire, the report said.
Meanwhile, the truck driver, Raul Moreno of Modesto, managed to exit the vehicle with unknown injuries .
Meanwhile, the Stanislaus Fire Department responded and located the driver in the pickup truck trapped. They extricated the person, but they died at the scene.
Investigators continue to work on the case and will determine liability.
