Semi-Truck, Car Involved in Crash on Barstow Road
BARSTOW, Calif. (August 13, 2024) — A fatal traffic accident involving a semi-truck happened Tuesday on Barstow Road or Highway 247 in San Bernardino County.
The deadly crash occurred at around 5:02 a.m. on August 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A motorist called 911 to report seeing a shoe in the roadway and “what looked like a body in the northbound lane.”
The Barstow Sheriff’s Office reported it was a vehicle versus pedestrian accident, but later witnesses confirmed it was a semi-truck versus a driver.
Caltrans is responding for a hard closure of both lanes of the highway.
Investigators are working to determine what led up to the fatal truck accident on Highway 247, as well as liability.
