At Least 1 Killed in Highway 99 Crash Near Power Line Road
NICOLAUS, Sutter County (August 11, 2018) – According to a local news source, one person was killed and another was injured in a traffic collision Saturday afternoon on Highway 99 near Power Line Road.
Officials said a motor home hauling a minivan traveling northbound on Highway 99 turned left, and was T-boned by a tractor-trailer pulling a double trailer traveling southbound in the number two lane.
Driver Ejected During Saturday Crash in Nicolaus
Investigators determine the driver of the motor home was not properly restrained at the time, and was ejected from the vehicle. That man suffered deadly injuries as a result of the crash. The name of the deceased have not been disclosed thus far.
1 Injured in Sutter County Truck VS Motor Home Accident
Authorities added the tractor-trailer operator suffered injuries in the accident. The man was reportedly taken to UC Davis Medical Center in unknown condition.
Following the wreck, motorists were asked to take a different route as the area was shut down to give way to the investigation. The exact cause of the deadly crash is still being determined.
