Tanker Truck Engulfed in Flames after Multi-Vehicle Crash

 Fatal Truck Crash Highway 99, Neal Road Near Chico in Butte CountyBUTTE COUNTY, Calif. (June 10, 2020) — Two people are dead and five hurt after a tanker truck crashed into several cars in a fiery crash on Highway 99 at Neal Road in the Chico area.

The collision was reported about 12:48 p.m. to the California Highway Patrol. At least six motorists were involved in the collision and the tanker truck became fully engulfed in flames.

Police closed down the roadway due to the collision and paramedics and firefighters with the CAL FIRE Butte Unit/Butte County Fire Department responded to help those at the scene. At least five people were treated on scene and an unknown number of them were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash and liability are under investigation.
