Double Fatal Truckee Crash on Highway 89
TRUCKEE, Calif. (May 26, 2021) — A fatal Truckee truck accident Tuesday afternoon on Highway 89 left two people dead.
The head-on crash happened about 3:25 p.m. on May 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported a small, black Ford sedan and big rig truck crashed head-on. One of the vehicles veered in front of the other vehicle, but there were no specific details in the CHP dispatch report.
The car wound up pinned underneath the semi-truck and both were blocking the southbound lanes.
The CHP report did not mention the gender and age of the two people who died in the fatal Truckee truck accident. Also, it’s likely they were both traveling in the car and not the truck.
Investigators will piece together evidence and question witnesses in an effort to determine fault for the Truckee crash.
