TULARE, Calif. (June 15, 2023) – Two people in their early 20s died in a Tulare traffic accident at Inyo Avenue and H Street Wednesday night.
The Tulare Police Department responded to the scene around 11:00 p.m. on June 14th, according to Your Central Valley.
The driver of a white Ford Focus and a silver Chevrolet Traverse were involved. The car was overturned on its side in the Sno-White parking lot. The Traverse suffered major front-end damage and was blocking the middle traffic lanes.
2 Killed, 1 Injured at Tulare Intersection
Paramedics responded and located a 22-year-old Tulare man and his 23-year-old female passenger in the Ford suffering major injuries. Both of them died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old Tulare man driving the Traverse was responsive and transported to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The Tulare Police Department Traffic Unit is heading up an investigation into the cause of the collision.
Preliminary findings are the white Ford Focus was heading southbound on H Street. The car reportedly stopped at the posted stop sign before it entered the intersection at Inyo Avenue. There is no stop sign for drivers on Inyo Avenue so the eastbound driver in the Traverse struck the Ford as it entered the roadway. The Ford overturned in the crash.
Authorities have not yet determined fault for the Tulare accident on Inyo Avenue as it remains under investigation. It’s unknown if speed was a factor in the crash or if drugs and or alcohol were involved.
