 Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Involving Pedestrian on Carson Street in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. (June 12, 2025) — A two-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Carson Street in Long Beach Wednesday left one person dead and two others hospitalized.

Authorities were called to the scene near Palo Verde Avenue around 3 p.m. on June 11th, where they discovered one of the vehicles had overturned, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

A pedestrian was struck during the collision and two individuals were injured and taken to a nearby hospital, said the Long Beach Fire Department. A third person at the scene declined medical treatment.

Officials have not yet confirmed whether the person who died was a pedestrian or an occupant of one of the vehicles. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until family members can be notified.

The conditions of the two hospitalized individuals have not been released.

In response to the crash, Carson Street was closed in both directions between Woodruff Avenue and Los Coyotes Diagonal as investigators examined the scene.

The cause of the collision remains under active investigation.
