Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5 Freeway Near Los Feliz Boulevard

1 Dead; 1 Injured in Collision on I-5 Freeway

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 17, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway near the Los Feliz Boulevard off-ramp left one person dead and another suffering from major injuries.

The traffic accident occurred at 8:25 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15th on the northbound I-5 at the Los Feliz Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Investigators working on the case determined a driver in a Toyota Corolla sedan was traveling northbound in the No. 4 Lane. The motorist then veered into the right shoulder for unknown reasons. The motorist reportedly lost control and veered to the left across all traffic lanes, colliding with a Honda Pilot SUV. Both vehicles wound up on the right shoulder, where the Corolla hit a concrete wall.

Paramedics and police responded and confirmed the death of one person at the scene. A second person was transported to a hospital with major injuries, but it’s unknown which vehicle they were riding in.
