Driver Arrested; Rollover Accident on Highway 101
BRADLEY, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2025) – Two people are dead following a rollover crash Tuesday night involving a U-Haul van on southbound Highway 101, just north of Jolon Road in Bradley.
Two others were injured including the driver of the truck who was reportedly under the influence of drugs, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Anthony Brendon Harvey, 38, was driving a 2023 Ford Transit U-Haul van with three unrestrained passengers including one in the front seat and two lying on a mattress in the rented van’s cargo area.
Harvey was crossing a bridge over Jolan Road when the van went off the roadway. The vehicle tumbled down a steep dirt embankment and overturned. There was heavy rainfall in the area at the time of the crash
Officials working on the cases reported they located the two rear passengers suffering from blunt force trauma who died following the crash. One has been identified as Rush Taylor.
The third passenger managed to exit the vehicle, but it’s unknown if they were injured.
Meanwhile, Harvey was taken by ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Hospital in San Luis Obispo.
It’s there that detectives determined he was allegedly under the influence of drugs.
He was treated at the hospital and then booked to the Monterey County Jail in Salinas. He is being held in lieu of $2,005,000 bail.
Jail records show the suspect is facing charges including murder, DUI causing bodily injury, possession of a blank check, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.
