Fatal Vista Pedestrian Accident on South Melrose Drive in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Nov. 17, 2025) — A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday night in Vista on South Melrose Drive, south of Hacienda Drive in San Diego County.
The deadly collision occurred on Nov. 14th around 8:14 p.m. in the 300 block of S. Melrose Drive, according to a press release issued by the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.

A driver in a gray Toyota RAV4 SUV reportedly hit the person on this dark stretch of the roadway. Police and paramedics responded and located the pedestrian down in a northbound traffic lane. An ambulance transported the victim to a hospital where they died at 8:45 p.m. that same night.
Detectives from the Vista Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit questioned the motorist and they are investigating the deadly crash to determine fault. Preliminary results indicate that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
