Two Men Killed in Solo Crash on I-10 in West Covina
WEST COVINA, Calif. (Dec. 16, 2024) – Two men died Saturday in a single-vehicle crash on the Interstate 10 Freeway at the Barranca Avenue on-ramp in West Covina.
The crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14th, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Investigators said they did not know why the 2021 Honda sedan veered off the road as it approached the off-ramp. The car veered onto the right shoulder and side-swiped a metal-and-wood guardrail, then crashed into a concrete slab and the metal pole of an overhead freeway sign, then burst into flames.
The driver and right-front passenger died inside the car, investigators said. It was unclear if there were any other occupants.
A Sigalert issued at 5:50 a.m. closing the on-ramp to the westbound freeway was canceled at 9 a.m., the CHP reported.
