Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Interstate 405 Freeway
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2024) — A fatal motorcycle accident happened Wednesday night on the northbound Interstate 405 Freeway in Westminster.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 9:37 p.m. on Oct. 30th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a grey or black Volkswagen Passat and the motorcyclist collided due to unknown circumstances in the northbound express lanes. A third motorist in a black Toyota Prius may have also struck the victim and or ran over crash debris in the right express lane.
The circumstances leading up to the collision are unknown at this time.
Paramedics responded and located the injured motorcyclist near the center divider.
Investigators requested Caltrans close two northbound FasTrak lanes, as well as the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the I-405, just north of Beach Boulevard due to the crash and investigation. The traffic lanes were closed for roughly 2.5 hours and Caltrans issued a SigAlert.
There is no further information about the fatal motorcycle accident on the 405 Freeway in Westminster.
