WINTERHAVEN, California (May 27, 2016) — At least one person was killed late Thursday night in a rollover crash on Blythe Ogilby Road and Ben Hulse Highway 78 in Imperial County, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 11:17 p.m. last night in the desert. The vehicle rolled over multiple times and at least one person suffered major injuries. Paramedics responded and transported the injured person to a local hospital where they later died. It’s unclear if there were more than one person in the vehicle or how many vehicles were involved.
Police will investigate the cause of the crash and whether someone else was responsible. Defects in the roadway or mechanical malfunctions are often to blame for some crashes.
