Deadly Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-15 Freeway in Baker

BAKER, Calif. (March 13, 2025) – The drivers of a semi-truck, a pickup truck, and a passenger car were involved in a fatal crash Wednesday in Baker on the I-15 Freeway, just north of Kelbaker Road.

The traffic accident happened at 9:56 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, according to the Victor Valley News Group. One person was confirmed dead following the crash and others were injured.

According to California Highway Patrol dispatch reports, the crash was set off by a wrong-way driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the Interstate 15.

The wrong-way driver hit the first vehicle in the fast lane and then collided with other vehicles including the semi-truck.

One person suffered major injuries and died at the scene and another person was trapped in their vehicle. Meanwhile, a third person managed to escape injury, the report said.

Several tow trucks removed the vehicles from the freeway.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the fatal wrong-way crash on the 15 Freeway in Baker.
