William Yost, 31, Killed in Crash on Ventura Freeway
PASADENA, Calif. (Jan. 6, 2025) — A fatal wrong-way driver crash happened Sunday morning in Pasadena on the westbound 134 Freeway at North San Rafael Avenue.
Two people including William Yost, 31, were killed in the fiery, multi-vehicle collision at 8:10 a.m. on Jan. 5th, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner and the California Highway Patrol.
Several vehicles including a white sedan, a silver minivan, and two other motorists were involved in the collision. At least one of the vehicles burst into flames upon impact.
CHP officials reported one of those drivers entered the 134 Freeway from the North San Rafael Avenue off-ramp and began traveling east in the westbound lanes.
The wrong-way driver reportedly collided with the other motorists.
Paramedics from the Pasadena Fire Department responded and transported four people who were injured to a trauma center. Meanwhile, William Yost died at the scene and a second person died at the hospital.
Tow truck drivers removed the badly damaged vehicles from the freeway.
The traffic collision remains under investigation.
