HAYWARD, California (December 28, 2016) — Tyrone Griffin, 36, was stabbed to death by two men inside a Target store on Christmas Eve after he allegedly asked them to turn down vulgar music they were playing on their cellphones in the toy section of the store.
Griffin had been shopping with his girlfriend and children ages 4 and 5 for Christmas presents and he was with his 4-year-old son in the toy section when he confronted the two suspects about their loud music. A fight broke out between the two men in their 20s and the victim who was hospitalized, but later died of his injuries.
Yolanda Lindsey, Griffin’s mother, told ABC News that her son was a good father who worked hard and loved his children.
Police arrested the two men and booked them into a Hayward jail on homicide charges.
