Victims Unresponsive During Airlift Transport
ANACAPA ISLAND, Ventura County (June 20, 2016) – Two divers were rescued after having been found unresponsive as a result of a faulty diving equipment incident, according to an article by Noozhawk.
The incident took place on June 18 at around 10:00 a.m.
In detail, the article mentioned a commercial dive boat reported a 40-year-old woman found foaming at the mouth; after she surfaced from a dive on the west side of the island.
In the second incident, a 40-year-old man also was discovered unresponsive with blood-shot eyes after having surfaced.
The Coast Guard immediately deployed a 45-foot response boat and a MH-65D helicopter. Both divers were rescued and airlifted to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard. Their identities and conditions were not disclosed at this time; due to the coroners continuing to work on notifying their family members.
