Man in Wheelchair Struck, Killed in Bakersfield Crash
Bakersfield, Calif. (March 27, 2023) — Faustino Sierra Vega, 57, of Bakersfield, died following a pedestrian accident at 4th Street and V Street in Bakersfield.
The pedestrian was in a wheelchair crossing the street when the collision occurred around 6:55 p.m. on Friday, March 24th, according to KGET News.
Officials believed the pedestrian attempted to cross near the intersection outside of a marked crosswalk when a passing vehicle struck him. He suffered major injuries and died on scene.
The female driver reportedly stopped to help the victim.
Authorities do not believe that speed, alcohol, and/or drugs were factors in the crash.
Furthermore, liability for the collision remains under investigation.
