Fayth Cerda Dinuba Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Avenue 408 and Road 104

Fayth Cerda Killed, Jennifer Magana Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident

DINUBA (July 5, 2018) – A woman killed after an alleged hit-and-run accident on Avenue 408 and Road 104 early Wednesday has been identified as Fayth Cerda, according to ABC 30 and The Fresno Bee.

The 21-year-old Dinuba resident was a victim of a tragic crash which also seriously injured 21-year-old Jennifer Magana at around 4:30 a.m.

As per the article, California Highway Patrol said Magana was driving a red 2005 Toyota Matrix west on Avenue 408 when her car was hit from behind by a gray 2011 Chevy Malibu.

The Chevy was allegedly traveling above the posted 55 mph speed limit when it struck the Toyota. Magana lost control of her vehicle and ultimately slammed into a telephone pole.

CHP affirmed that Cerda, who was riding as a passenger in the Toyota, was found pinned inside the wreckage following the crash. She died at the scene.

Magana, of Sultana, was flown to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries including a broken leg and internal damages. Her condition at this time remained unknown.

Meanwhile, the male driver of the Malibu abandoned the vehicle which ended up in a field upon impact. The motorist left in another car, but later turned himself in. The suspect is believed to have been speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.

We offer our prayers and most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Fayth Cerda during such a difficult time.

In this case, it is evident that the driver of the Chevy Malibu will be held responsible for causing the tragic incident that led to the death of an innocent woman and serious injuries of another. Aside from fleeing the scene, the suspect is also accused of speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the deadly collision. The surviving family of Ms. Fayth Cerda, as well as Ms. Jennifer Magana, will have the right to pursue a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault party.
