 Felicia Rodriguez Arrested for Fatal Victorville Hit-and-run Crash Mariposa Road Woman Killed in Hit-and-run Crash; Felicia Rodriguz Arrested

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (Feb. 2, 2022) —  Felicia Rodriguez, 31, of Victorville, allegedly struck and killed a 24-year-old woman early Wednesday morning on Mariposa Road in Victorville.

Police say the suspect then fled the scene without stopping to help the victim.

Adriana Verdugo, 24, of Victorville, died in the hit-and-run collision just north of Locust Avenue near the Totem Pole Mobile Home Park.

The collision happened about 2:24 a.m. on Feb. 2nd at the Victorville intersection, according to a press release by the Victorville Police Department.

The suspect, Felicia Rodriguez, 31, of Victorville, allegedly struck the victim in the northbound lanes and took off before police and paramedics arrived.

Victorville Fire Department and paramedics with American Medical Response responded to the crash scene where Adriana Verdugo succumbed to her injuries upon their arrival.

Driver Arrested at Victorville Police Station

The motorist left the scene, but authorities say three hours later she turned herself in at the Victorville Police Station.  Investigators located the involved vehicle near Nisqualli Road and Eleventh Avenue in Victorville. The vehicle had major front end damage. Police arrested Rodriguez at the Victorville Police Station. She faces multiple charges including felony hit and run causing death, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and suspicion of driving under the influence causing death. Rodriguez was booked at the High Desert Detention Center.

Deputies with the Victorville Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) are heading up the investigation.

They closed all northbound and southbound lanes of Mariposa Road, but all lanes re-opened around 11:00 a.m.
