Man, 34, Killed in Crash on State Route 74
HOMELAND, Calif. (August 17, 2023) — Felipe Beltran-Salgado, 34, of Pasadena, was struck and killed early Wednesday by a Freightliner truck on State Route 74 in Homeland.
The fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 2:25 a.m. on August 16th in the eastbound lanes of State Route 74, just west of Amanda Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol and MyNewsLA.
The pedestrian was walking on the highway when a truck struck him. The 59-year-old Hemet man driving the white 2019 big rig truck struck the pedestrian. Upon impact, the man was thrown in the air and landed on the shoulder of the road, police said.
Paramedics responded and transported the injured man by ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Unfortunately, Felipe Beltran-Salgado later died from his injuries.

Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on State Route 74.
