Pedestrian Felipe Gonzalez Dies Following San Diego Crash
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Dec. 31, 2018) — Felipe Claudio Gonzalez, 57, died on Christmas Eve, two days after being struck by a van whose driver allegedly ran a red light at Mira Mesa Boulevard and Westview Parkway in San Diego, according to a report by the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The collision took place at 7:14 a.m. on Dec. 22nd. Gonzalez was crossing the road when the driver in a van failed to stop at a red light and struck him. Paramedics rushed Gonzalez to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he remained for two days. On Dec. 24th, after his condition deteriorated, he died at 12:05 p.m.
San Diego Accident Investigation
At this time, it appears that driver in the van failed to stop at a traffic light and may have caused the accident that killed Felipe Gonzalez. Police are investigating the circumstances and will determine liability for this collision.
