3 Fatal Crashes on Ramona Expressway Over Past Week
LAKEVIEW, Calif. (June 13, 2018) — Felipe Landeros, 52 of Nuevo, lost his life Tuesday night in a collision on the Ramona Expressway near Lakeview Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The crash took place about 11:3 p.m. last night in the eastbound lanes. A truck and sedan collided and then a third vehicle was involved, the CHP reported. A second person suffered minor injuries in the collision, but the report does not state how many vehicles were involved.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating what caused the crash.
This is the third fatality withing two miles of one another reported on the Ramona Expressway near Nuevo in the past week.
On Tuesday, Terrell Moore’s Ford Explorer was hit head-on on the Ramona Expressway near Fifth Street by a stolen 2018 GMC Sierra driven by a suspected DUI driver identified as Joaquin Alvaradosantana, 29 of Nuevo, police said. Alvaradosantana’s female passenger was hurt in the crash.
Erik Rodriguez Santos, 33, of San Jacinto, died June 5th in a collision on the Ramona Expressway near Hansen Avenue when his Ford Escape crossed the double yellow lines and he hit a trailer being towed by a Ford F-250 pickup truck. Santos’ vehicle also struck a Dodge Charger that was following behind the truck and trailer.
