Man Killed in Hit-and-run Crash in Mar Vista ID’d as Felipe Nunez-Garcia
MAR VISTA, Calif. (Dec. 31, 2018) — Felipe Nunez-Garcia, 50, of Los Angeles, has been identified as the pedestrian who was killed Thursday night in a hit-and-run crash at Centinela Avenue and Venice Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The crash took place about 9 p.m. on Dec. 27th in Mar Vista.
Nunez-Garcia was struck by a driver who fled the scene. Meanwhile, he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as a black SUV, but there was no description of the driver.
Los Angeles Accident Investigation
At this time, it appears that driver fled the scene without stopping to help the victim as required under California law. Police are investigating the circumstances and will determine liability for this collision.
