Several Hurt in Head-on Collision Near Eggiman Lane
Amador County, CA (May 23, 2022) – Felix Cruz, and Francisca DeJesus both suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route Highway 88.
The Ledger Dispatch News reported 51-year-old Felix Cruz, of Lodi, was behind the wheel of a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling on the highway in Amador County. According to the article published online, a 2018 Honda Civic veered into the path of the Chevrolet. Officials said the two vehicles ended up disabled after crashing head-on. The collision took place just east of Eggiman Lane.
At Least 1 Hospitalized After Car Accident on Highway 88 in Amador County
Shortly after 11:08 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found the driver and passenger in the Chevrolet both with injuries. Emergency crews transported Felix Cruz to Sutter Amador Hospital for treatment of major trauma. Meanwhile, the passenger–49-year-old Francisca DeJesus sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
Authorities mentioned occupants in the Honda also sustained injuries as a result of the crash. The names of the people hurt, and their condition at this time have not been revealed thus far.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Honda showed signs of intoxication. Detectives handling the case continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the car crash on State Route 88 in Amador County.
