Fernando Buenrostro, 57; and Araceli Osuna, 54, Injured in Imperial County Crash
IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA (November 26, 2022) – A fatal crash left Fernando Buenrostro and Araceli Osuna injured on Dogwood Road in Imperial County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the Brawley residents as victims of the wreck which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Fernando Buenrostro and Araceli Osuna were both driving north on Dogwood Road in Imperial County. At the same time, a 2016 Kia Forte was going south.
For an unknown reason, the Kia traveled into the northbound lane and struck Fernando Buenrostro, 57, in his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado.
Man, 26, Killed in Wreck
CHP said the Forte then hit the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Araceli Osuna, 54, was operating. The cars crashed north of Ralph Road.
The Desert Review and Calexico Chronicle wrote that the accident occurred on November 20 at around 2:30 p.m. The driver of the Kia, a 26-year-old Cathedral City man, died as a result of the collision.
Fernando Buenrostro and Araceli Osuna sustained minor injuries following the crash. Paramedics treated the man at the scene and rushed the woman to the El Centro Regional Medical Center for further aid.
The passenger in the older Chevrolet, 56-year-old Fresno resident Gilbert Amezcua, ended up unharmed. Meanwhile, officers forced as stretch of Dogwood Road to shut down after the wreck.
The cause of the Imperial County crash is still under investigation.
