Man, 39, Struck and Killed in Indio Crash

INDIO, Calif. (Dec. 11, 2023) — Fernando Cruz Jr., 39, of Coachella, died in a pedestrian accident on Vista Del Norte, about one mile west of Dillon Road in Indio.

The deadly crash occurred at around 11:10 a.m. on Dec. 9th, in unincorporated Indio, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.

A driver traveling westbound on Vista Del Norte reportedly struck the Coachella man in the roadway between Golf Center Parkway and Dillon Road.

Paramedics from the Riverside County Fire Department responded and provided life-saving measures on the victim, but he sadly died at the scene. He was later identified as Fernando Cruz Jr., the coroner said.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Indio pedestrian accident.
